Webinars

To be honest 3 hours of videos on YT are not easy to watch. And the fact is that I couldn't see every minute of them but I found some things which were more interesting than the rest. The difficult thing with webinars is to get rid of monotony. According to different researchers a highly motivated student looses his attention after a couple of minutes and without a teacher being there to raise or lower its voice it becomes even harder.
I liked the fact that the webinars started with the polls on "why are proverbs useful" and "why is grammar difficult". I think that it is good to know the opinions of other people and it is even better to see that you share the same ideas and beliefs with some of them. This makes you aware that pretty much you are all seeking for the same thing.
But one thing that might be difficult to be managed during the webinars is commenting on different topics and questions that are thrown in the course of webinar. I think that it is impossible for the teacher to read them all and most of the comments will go unchecked. The students as well will not produce good quality comments because they are going to be more focused on who is going to comment faster rather that who is going to comment something smart. To make things worse the chat box ribbon is constantly moving and it is very frustrating.
On the other hand, the level of interaction is moderately high so there are an endless number of possibilities for different opinions and ideas that might spring up on the spot. Let's suppose that you read something a friend of yours has mentioned and and idea strikes you and you further elaborate on it.
I must admit that the webinar on Proverbs was more interesting and attractive than the other. This was probably because I was trying to find the counterparts of the proverbs in Albanian language. I will write a proverb that was on the video and you will try to give its counterpart in Albanian.
Chew on this: "If it ever were to rain soup the poor would only have forks." The object on the picture is part of the proverb in Albanian.

  2. I saw those videos just like you did It was really boring as they were too long, but they served for something in the end. I do agree with you about the 2nd video as it was more interesting and funny to me. That picture with the drum made it much easier to me to remember our albanian counterpart. Kur bën dasmë fukarai çahet daullja😂.
